We are seeking a highly skilled Data Vault 2.0 Modeler to join our Data Engineering and Data Architecture team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable, enterprise-grade data models within a modern cloud-based data platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Data Vault 2.0 methodologies, strong experience with complex transactional and file-based datasets, and a proven ability to build data models that support both operational reporting and advanced analytics.
This position will play a critical role in establishing robust, auditable, and scalable data foundations across Raw Vault, Business Vault, and Consumption layers while ensuring data quality, governance, lineage, and historical accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale Data Vault 2.0 solutions, including:
Hubs
Links (transactional and non-historized patterns)
Satellites
Raw Vault and Business Vault structures
Create logical and physical data models that support operational, analytical, and self-service reporting requirements.
Develop and optimize:
Fact and Dimension models
Data marts
Point-in-Time (PIT) tables
Bridge tables
Implement historization strategies and temporal data modeling techniques to ensure accurate tracking of business changes over time.
Model and integrate complex file-based and transactional data sources, including datasets with limited or no Change Data Capture (CDC) capabilities.
Design solutions for:
Change detection
Timeline accuracy
Key drift management
Data lineage and auditability
Collaborate with data architects, engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data models.
Ensure adherence to enterprise data governance, metadata management, and data quality standards.
Support cloud-based data platforms and lakehouse/warehouse architectures to enable efficient data consumption across the organization.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of professional experience in data modeling and data architecture.
Strong hands-on expertise with Data Vault 2.0 methodologies and best practices.
Proven experience designing and implementing:
Raw Data Vault
Business Data Vault
Dimensional Models (Facts and Dimensions)
Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as:
Azure Data Lake
Snowflake
Similar cloud data warehouse technologies
Strong understanding of:
Historization techniques
Temporal data modeling
Transactional data modeling patterns
Data lineage and governance practices
Experience working with large-scale, complex datasets and file-based ingestion patterns.
Ability to develop both logical and physical data models.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience within the healthcare domain, including data models related to claims, payments, providers, members, or clinical datasets.
Experience working with highly dynamic, real-world datasets that require advanced change tracking and historization.
Familiarity with lakehouse and hybrid warehouse architectures.
Experience supporting both operational and analytical workloads from a unified data platform.
Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
